In recent days, cases of cybercrime have been increasingly reported. Scammers continually devise new methods to deceive people. Often, individuals fall into these traps without realizing they are dealing with scammers. Whether it's the allure of doubling money or enticing discounts, scammers easily exploit any vulnerability.

What You Can Do

You can lodge a complaint from the comfort of your home. Your grievance will be heard and addressed. To file a complaint online, visit the official government website dedicated to cybercrime reporting at https://cybercrime.gov.in/. Click on the "File a complaint" option. Accept the terms and conditions on the subsequent page and proceed by selecting "Report other cybercrime."

Afterward, click on "citizen login." Enter your details such as name, email ID, and mobile number. You will receive an OTP on your registered number. Enter the OTP and captcha, then click "submit."

Filing Your Complaint

You will encounter four sections: General Information, Cybercrime Information, Victim Information, and Preview. Fill in all necessary details accurately. After verifying all information, submit your complaint. You can also upload relevant screenshots and files related to your case. Click on "Save and Next" upon entering all details.

Provide Information on Suspicious Activities

If you suspect anyone, provide accurate information. Ensure all information is verified before submission. Once your complaint is registered, you will receive messages and emails for further updates.

Cyber Crime Helpline Number

If you prefer not to file a complaint online, alternative options are available. You can call the Cyber Crime Helpline at 1930, the national helpline number for cybercrime. If you have experienced financial fraud, provide essential details such as your name, contact information, account details, and the recipient account details where money was transferred. With the rise in cybercrime, it's crucial to stay vigilant and utilize available resources to protect yourself and report any suspicious activities promptly.
