In the wake of the super cyclone emphon in the Bay of Bengal, Home Minister Amit Shah spoke to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. He has assured West Bengal CM Mamta that the Center is committed to helping the state and already NDRF teams have been deployed. The center is ready for any assistance required by the state. The news agency ANI has given information quoting sources from the Ministry of Home Affairs.

For your information, let us tell you that Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba will preside over the meeting of National Crisis Monitoring Committee (NCMC) at 12.00 noon today to take stock of the preparations in Odisha and West Bengal in the wake of dealing with the super cyclone. Apart from the readiness of the National Disaster Relief Force (NDRF) and the Defense Forces, the Departments of Power and Telecommunications have been instructed to be prepared to deal with any emergency situation.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) regarding this matter, the form of Super Cyclone Amphon is expected to change again during the next 6 hours. The Meteorological Department has informed that this storm is likely to weaken during the next 6 hours and it will turn into an extremely severe Cyclonic Storm.
