New Delhi: Cyclone Gulab is set to hit today. It is becoming dangerous day by day. The MET department said the storm is expected to hit Odisha and Andhra Pradesh today. West Bengal is the third state In order to get hit by cyclone Gulab. The MET department team has recently said that they are keeping a constant watch. Not only that but NDRF teams have also been deployed in Odisha and Andhra Pradesh. Heavy rain alert is said to have been sounded in the three states from Sunday to Monday.

As per the information received so far, cyclone 'Gulab' rising from the northwest and adjoining the west-central Bay of Bengal is moving westwards at a high speed and is centred about 330 km east-southeast of Gopalpur (Odisha) and 400 km east of Kalingapatnam (Andhra Pradesh). The MET department also said that cyclone Gulab is likely to move almost westwards and cross the coasts of north Andhra Pradesh-South Odisha between Kalingapatnam and Gopalpur around Sunday evening. Light to moderate rainfall at most places in south Odisha and north coastal Andhra Pradesh, heavy to very heavy rainfall at some places in Madhya Pradesh and heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places are expected today i.e. It is also being said that there is a possibility of heavy to very steep fall at different places in Telangana.

NDRF- 42 teams of Odisha Disaster Response Force (ODRAF) and 24 teams of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) as well as about 102 teams of firemen have been sent to 7 districts. These districts are Gajapati, Ganjam, Raigada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur and Kandhamal. Five NDRF teams are also deployed in Andhra Pradesh.
