Cyclone Titli Live updates: India Coast Guard rescues 8 fishermen in Paradip and Gopalpur

Odisha: As IMD reported Titli Cyclone moving at a speed of 140-150 km per hour. Odisha's Gopalpur reported 102 km per hour and Andhra Pradesh's Kalingapatnam reported 56 km per hour surface wind speed. India Coast Guard rescued 8 fishermen in Paradip and Gopalpur amidst strong winds and heavy rains.

Visuals from Ganjam's Gopalpur after Titli Cyclone made landfall in the region at 5:30 am today. 10,000 people from low lying areas had been evacuated to govt shelters till last night.

Earlier, Umashankar Das, India Meteorological Department said that Titli Cyclone is 120 km away from Gopalpur. It is moving at a speed of 11 km/hour and will reach Gopalpur b/w 5:30-11:30 am today. He added that Heavy rainfall is expected and Our port warning is highest at 10 asserting Maximum speed will be 150 km/hour.

The process of landfall has started and it will completely cross the Odisha coast in one or two hours. The system will pass close to Gopalpur, as H R Biswas, Director of Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar said. The IMD stated that the forward sector of the eye of the storm has been entering into the land mass.

Kalongapatanam in Andhra Pradesh recorded a speed of 56 km per hour. Five districts of Odisha- Ganjam, Khurda, Puri, Jagatsinghpur and Kendrapara have been receiving massive rainfall. Residents in low-lying areas of Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal have been moved to government centers.
