New Delhi: Cyclone ' Vayu ' has been transformed into a very dangerous storm as it moves towards Gujarat coast. According to the Metrological department, it will hit a speed of 170 kilometres per hour from Veraval coast at noon on Thursday. However, the storm is usually weakened after the collision. But the meteorological department estimates that the cyclone could cause a lot of havoc in the next 24 hours.

As per information received from sources, the department has predicted heavy rain in coastal areas of Gujarat and Daman and Diu. Meanwhile, the Home Ministry has issued a general alert in ten districts of Gujarat on Wednesday. 52 teams of NDRF have been dispatched to Gujarat, while the army has been put on standby. Not only that, navy aircraft and ships have also been kept ready to deal with the storm.

With this, a meeting of the National Crisis Management Committee under the chairmanship of Home Secretary Rajiv Gauba was held to meet the rescue and relief operations.
