Azamgarh: 14 people have been burnt when a gas cylinder exploded while cooking in a house in Shanghaipur Jogiane under the Nizamabad area of Azamgarh district of Uttar Pradesh on Friday evening. There was panic on the spot after the incident. Two houses have been diminished to rubble in the accident. A total of 14 people, including three innocents, suffered severe burns and have been admitted to the district hospital for treatment. Some people are still reported to be buried in the debris. Rescue operations are on the spot.

According to the information, Gullu, daughter-in-law of Lalman, a resident of Shanghaipur Jogiane village, was cooking food on gas on Friday evening. Meanwhile, due to a gas leak, a fire broke out in the cylinder and the cylinder exploded. The roofs of Lalman and Shahbaz's house fell due to a cylinder explosion. A total of 14 people, including three innocent people, have been injured in the incident, who have been admitted to the district hospital for treatment. Of these, the condition of 6 people is said to be critical.

Hadith and his neighbour's house were also destroyed in the accident. As soon as they heard the explosion, people rushed to the spot and there was chaos on the spot. The injured were pulled out of the debris. Police and administrative officials also rushed to the spot immediately after receiving information. In the case, Nizamabad SDM Rajiv Ratan Singh said that the accident occurred when a gas cylinder caught fire while cooking food. A total of 11 people were injured in the accident, two houses also collapsed.
