Cyrus Mistry, a former chairman of Tata Sons, was killed in a car accident on Sunday at Charoti in Palghar while driving a Mercedes from Ahmedabad to Mumbai.

The Surya river bridge was the site of the disaster. Hospitalized are two more people who were hurt in the accident. Palghar SP claimed that the automobile hit the divider.

According to reports, the accident happened on the Mumbai–Ahmedabad National Highway's Surya River Charoti bridge. Mistry was driving his Mercedes from Gujarat back to Mumbai. According to reports, the car struck a divider before the fatal tragedy happened.

Mistry was fired from his role as Tata Sons' sixth chairman in October 2016. After Ratan Tata announced his retirement in December 2012, he took over as chairman. Later, N Chandrasekaran took over as Tata Sons' executive chairman.

In May, The Supreme Court dismissed a plea of the Sapoorji Pallonji (SP) group which seemed a view of the 2021 verdict which upheld the Tata Group's decision on removing Cyrus Mistry as the executive chairman of the Tata Sons.
