Hyderabad: In their first match of the seventh season of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL), Dabang Delhi on Wednesday defeated the Telugu Titans 34-33 in a thrilling fashion. Thus he has started his winning campaign in the league. This is the third consecutive defeat of the Telugu Titans. The thrill in the first half of the match at the Gachibavali Stadium here can be gauged from the fact that the two teams were on equal score three times.
In the last minute of the 20th minute, the two teams were level 12-12, but Naveen Kumar scored a point for Delhi to lead it to 13-12 at the end of the first half. In the second half too, the thrill was at its peak when Delhi was ahead 22-21 in the seventh minute, 33-31 in the 18th minute and 34-32 in the last minute.
A few seconds before the end of the match, Siddharth Desai of the Telugu Titans, known as Baahubali, tried to save the team from losing the match by one point. However, Baahubali's effort failed to work and Delhi won the match by one point. For the winner Dabang Delhi, Naveen Kumar scored 14 and Chandran Ranjit scored six points. The team also scored 23 from the Reds, seven from tackles, two from the all-out and two extra points. For the Telugu Titans, Suraj Desai took 18 and Siddharth Desai eight points. Telugu got 27 points from the Reds and six from tackles.
