In a big blow to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), pacer Dale Steyn has been ruled out of the rest of the season due to shoulder inflammation. The pacer had joined the team a few games ago and was instrumental in RCB's wins in the two matches he played.
In a statement, RCB said that Dale Steyn has been prescribed with ample rest due to inflammation in his shoulder. On account of state of his health, Dale will not be available to take part further in the ongoing season of IPL.
The statement further states that the presence of the pacer has helped the team immensely and we are very thankful for the inspiration and passion that he brought to the squad. The team will deeply miss his energy and presence around. We wish him a speedy recovery and all the luck for all future endeavours.
In the recent match against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) Steyn was not a part of the team but RCB still managed to pick up a win, thanks to AB de Villiers and Marcus Stoinis - who helped the team put a 200-plus total on board. Now it has been understood that the pacer wouldn't be a part of the remainder of the RCB games this season.
