Patna: A Dalit leader was shot dead on Thursday evening in Hajipur, Bihar. Rakesh Paswan, National Organisation Secretary of Dalit Sena, who was engaged in preparations for Ambedkar Jayanti, was shot by four people and fled from the spot. There was a lot of uproar in the area after the incident. As soon as the news was received, the DM-SP also reached the spot and tried to pacify Rakesh Paswan's supporters and relatives. The police are busy in search of Rakesh's killers.

Actually, the incident happened on Thursday evening. National Organization Secretary of Dalit Army Rakesh Paswan was present at his home in Panchdamiya of Lalganj police station area. He was busy with preparations for Ambedkar Jayanti. Because of this, four people reached him. Those people first touched Rakesh's feet, then took out their weapons and opened fire on Rakesh. Before other people present on the spot could understand anything, the four criminals fled from the spot after killing Rakesh.

Rakesh's blood lay at home. In a hurry, Rakesh's supporters and family members reached Sadar Hospital. But he had died. Thereafter, they started creating a ruckus in the hospital premises itself. As the protests escalated, more police were called in, and the hospital premises were converted into a cantonment.
