Bangalore: Karnataka's Kalaburagi Police has arrested two accused in Vijay Kamble's murder case. The arrested accused have been identified as 19-year-old Shahabuddin and Nawaz. A case has also been registered against the accused under sections 302 and 34 of IPC and SC/ST. According to the information, Dalit Vijay Kamble had a love affair with Shahabuddin's sister. For this reason Shahabuddin and Nawaz together killed Kamble.

The mother of the deceased has said that Shahabuddin had come to their house about six months ago and threatened him not to have a relationship with his sister. Giving information about the incident, he said that after Vijay returned from his job, he got a call. Then he went somewhere. He told the media that, 'The attackers hit Vijay on the head and then stabbed him to death with a knife.' Kalburgi Superintendent of Police Isha Pant said the girl's family came to know about the relationship and they were furious as they were of a different religion. Pant said that, 'It was because of this outrage that Shahabuddin killed him.'

According to the information given by the police, on 25 May 2022, Kamble was taken by Shahabuddin and Nawaz near a railway bridge and attacked him with weapons, stones and bricks. Police said that the victim was brutally attacked. Eventually he died. He had lost a lot of blood on the spot, due to which he lost his life. Isha Pant told that, 'Vijay had many injuries on his neck and injury marks were also found on the head. He had died on the spot. The investigation so far has revealed that the attack was not pre-planned, but we are gathering more evidence.
