'Dance, DJ, and Fireworks banned citing un-Islamic practice,' Clerics order

Dhanbad: Clerics in a block of Jharkhand's Dhanbad district have banned dance, DJ, and fireworks during wedding functions. Clerics say it is un-Islamic practice, this should not happen. Those who violate it will be identified and fined.

According to the report, on Monday, Cleric Masood Akhtar, the head Imam of Sibilibari Jama Masjid in Nirsa block, said that the ban on dance, DJ, and fireworks at the wedding will start from December 2. Cleric said "We have unanimously decided that nikahs will be solemnized as per Islamic religion. There will be no dance during this. There will also be no DJ or fireworks. If someone does not follow this rule, then he will be identified and a fine of Rs 5,100 will be imposed on him.''

Cleric said that the marriage will have to be done before 11 pm because the time after that is not considered auspicious. He said that if anyone tries to perform nikah after 11 pm, he will also be fined. Clerics said that those who violate the rule will also have to apologize in writing. The cleric said that people of religion should inform their relatives and acquaintances about this. The decision in this regard was taken at a meeting held on Sunday. The chief Imam, who chaired the meeting, said such practices are not allowed in Islam. It also causes inconvenience to people.
