Danger looms over Joshimath! Govt took this big step for the sufferers

Dehradun: Following the instructions of Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Chamoli Collector has issued an order to give money to the affected people for rent. The Uttarakhand government will pay rent of Rs 4,000 per month to the affected for six months. This amount will be provided from the CM Relief Fund.  

The government came into high alert mode due to the disaster in Joshimath. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has taken charge of the entire operation himself. Till late Friday night, the Chief Minister had closely consulted the officers on the situation in Joshimath and every possible security and rescue measure. The Chief Minister told the officers that Joshimath has religious and cultural significance. The work done here should be done under the rules of disaster management. Special care should be taken to ensure that the livelihood of the people is not affected. The Chief Minister also directed to make adequate arrangements for SDRF and NDRF to help the affected people and to arrange Heli service if needed. He said that along with the immediate action plan, long-term works should also be completed at the earliest while ending the long process and completing the work like treatment of danger zones, sewer, and drainage.

Simplification and quick action should be the biggest mantra. Emphasizing the availability of all facilities for medical treatment, the Chief Minister said that arrangements should also be made for an airlift facility if necessary. ACS Radha Raturi, DGP Ashok Kumar, Secretary Shailesh Bagauli, Sachin Kurve, Dilip Jawalkar, Inspector General of Police- SDRF Ridhim Agarwal, and others were present on the occasion.
