Raigarh: A major accident took place near the railway station in Raigarh, Chhattisgarh. Here the goods train and the rail engine collided with each other. At the same time, the collision was so dangerous that many coaches of the train derailed. No casualty was reported in the incident and the movement of trains on the route remained unaffected.

The incident took place at 11.40 am due to shunting on the railway siding on the outskirts of Raigad railway station on the Mumbai-Howrah route, South East Central Railway Chief Public Relations Officer Saket Ranjan said. He said that while moving, the two-engine locomotive collided with the parked empty goods train which was on the third line track (other than the UP and down line) from the rear side.

At the same time, he said that the locomotive that hit the parked goods train had also suffered some damage. It seems that there has been negligence in the accident. But a detailed investigation is underway. He said that a team of railway officers from Bilaspur has been sent to the spot and the work of restoring the derailed locomotives and wagons is going on. He said the accident took place on the third line, which did not affect the movement of other trains.
