Kolkata: A fire broke out at a hotel in New Digha in West Bengal's East Medinipur. Many tourists jumped off the balcony to save their lives. Many people are likely to be trapped in hotel rooms. Fire tenders have reached the spot and efforts are being made to douse the fire. According to the information received, at around 11 am on Thursday, fire and black smoke were seen coming out of the lobby of the stairs on the second floor of the hotel. The employees left the hotel in a fit of rage and went out on the road. On the second floor, some people jumped over the railing to save lives.

On receiving the same information, the Digha police station rushed to the spot. At the same time, efforts are being made to control the fire with the help of fire tenders from Ramnagar. However, the fire could not be controlled until the news was written. No harm was reported in the case. According to information, the electrical work is going on in that hotel. Employees at a nearby hotel said the fire could have been caused by a short circuit. An investigation is being carried out.

The same police and firemen have also questioned the hotel staff in connection with the incident. A few days ago, there was a huge fire in Haldia.
