New Delhi: Russia's legendary tennis player Daniil Medvedev has been fined heavily for his misbehaviour. He was fined $ 9,000 by the US Open for commenting and abusive behaviour against sportsmanship. Medvedev defeated Feliciano Lopez of Spain to enter the fourth round of the final Grand Slam of the year. Medvedev is the fifth ranked player from Russia.

During the match against Lopez, he snatched the towel from the ball-boy in anger and then threw his racket, showing him the middle finger, which was considered a violation of the code. Chair umpire Damen Dumsois could not see this act of Medvedev, but his behavior was seen on television. Medvedev hooted the audience during the match. The Russian player was fined $ 5,000 for behaving against the spirit of the game and $ 4,000 for indecent behavior.

After his match on Saturday, Daniil Medvedev regretted his gesture towards the spectators during the third round of the US Open, saying that he would try to behave well ahead. Medvedev was hooted by the spectators during the match but he managed to win the match 7-6, 6-4, 7-6, 6-4. He told not to repeat this incident further.
