On Thursday, Trinamool chief and Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee took to the road to protest against the National Register of Citizens (NRC) released in Assam. At the same time, she said that for the sake of religion, I stand in opposition to NRC for the sake of religion, Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, and Christian.

According to the media report, the procession was taken from Chidiya Mod on North Kolkata's BT Road to Shyambazar Five Point. The procession was led by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, which was joined by the party's heavyweight leaders, ministers and thousands of activists and supporters. Will not be able to shut her mouth. Suddenly you are teaching us religion like we do not celebrate Eid, Durga Puja, Muharram, and Chhath Puja.

Already on this day, a call has been given to take out a protest march against Trinamool's multiple policies of the Center. Earlier, on 7 and 8 September, protests were organized in the districts on behalf of Trinamool against NRC. Mamta has already expressed strong reaction to the exclusion of around 19 lakh people from the NRC in Assam, in the meantime, a tender was issued by the State Public Works Department on Wednesday for barricading the procession route. This tender was allotted a few hours before the proposed procession. Under this, it has been said that the barricades will be completed by Thursday morning on both sides of the path through which the Chief Minister will join the procession on foot.
