Scientists say that young girls who have close ties with their father are unlikely to feel loneliness compared to other girls. In the US, John Feng, associate professor at Ohio State University, said that they found about the close rapport between father and daughters helps daughters and help them out of loneliness. In the study published in 'Journal of Family Psychology', data of 695 families were analyzed. The indications say that during this period, the level of proximity has declined, whereas conflict has increased.

Ohio State's doctoral student Julia Yan said that at this is a time when children are becoming more independent, increasing relationships with friends and attracting more towards social behavior. However, the study showed that a close relationship with the father keeps the daughters away from loneliness by helping them as a friend.

Michael Austin, associate professor of philosophy at Eastern Kentucky University explains that how Dad approaches life will serve as an example for his daughter to build off of in her own life, even if she chooses a different view of the world.

He added that what actually matters in the father-daughter relationship is that Dad seeks to live a life of integrity and honesty, avoiding hypocrisy and admitting his own shortcomings so that she has a realistic and positive example of how to deal with the world.
