Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], Mar 08 (NT): India's most wanted underworld don Dawood Ibrahim's key supporter and an accused in the 1993 Mumbai blasts, Farooq Takla was brought back to Mumbai on Thursday after he was deported from United Arab Emirates (UAE), as reported ANI.

“Fact he has returned, shows he has expressed his willingness to come back for trial. He'll certainly be remanded to custody, there's no question of bail being granted to him. Till next development he'll be in jail, said Majeed Memon, NCP leader & senior criminal lawyer on Farooq Takla

As per reports, an Air India flight no. AI 996 carrying Takla landed in Mumbai earlier this morning.

Takla, is being inquiryed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and will be produced in Mumbai's Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (TADA) court shortly in the day.

He ran away from India after 1993 Mumbai blasts, following which a Red Corner Notice was issued against him in 1995.

Apart from Mumbai blasts  , Takla also faces criminal conspiracy, murder, attempt to murder and several other charges.

At least 27 other prime accused in the 1993 Mumbai blasts, continue to get away from the nation and are declared as escapee. (NT)
