New Delhi: The corona infection rate in the country's capital Delhi has now come down to 1.5 per cent. New cases coming up every day are continuously declining. At the same time, people are recovering by defeating corona. Delhi can now be unlocked from May 31. The lockdown is currently in force in Delhi, which will last till Monday morning on May 31.
The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) is scheduled to meet today. The DDMA meeting is scheduled to be held at 11.30 am today. The meeting will be attended by Delhi Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal, CM Arvind Kejriwal, Delhi Chief Secretary and other concerned officials. The meeting will clarify whether Delhi will be unlocked from May 31 or the situation will still wait to improve further. Though corona infection has started receding in Delhi, cases of black fungus have increased and have been declared an epidemic by the Government. Four people have also died due to black fungus.
When Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal announced an extension of the lockdown by another week, he had said that delhi will be gradually unlocked in a systematic manner if the infection cases continue to decline by May 31 and the situation starts returning to normal.
