New Delhi: Delhi's Kejriwal government has allowed public fairs and exhibitions from Thursday to resume economic activities disrupted by lockdown during the second wave of coronavirus in the national capital in view of the festive season. The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) in an order issued on Wednesday said that business-related consumer exhibitions will be allowed in the city from September 16.

Banquet halls will be allowed to organize such exhibitions and fairs. However, the order said schools will remain closed for students up to class VIII. DDMA said exhibitions and fairs with all stakeholders will be allowed in strict compliance with the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) laid down by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. It will allow business-to-business (B2B) and business to customers (B2C) exhibitions. The order said other activities banned and allowed by the DDMA will continue till midnight of September 30 and October 1.

Let us tell you that when Delhi was reeling under a severe second wave of the corona epidemic, a large number of people were losing their lives every day. The cases of infection had increased so fast that hospitals in Delhi were run out of beds and oxygen. There were also a lot of hue and cry to ensure a continuous supply of oxygen to patients in all hospitals.
