Morena: Bodies have to be burnt under tarpaulin in Gapra village of Morena. Yes, there is no tin shed and that is why it has to wait for hours for the funeral to stop raining. People here keep dead bodies at home because it is their strength. Sometimes when it starts raining when it reaches the crematorium, the burning pyre from the tarpaulin has to be protected from extinguishing. Something similar has happened here recently. In fact, the Gaipara village of Pahargarh Panchayat is only 7 kilometers away from Jaura town. Gaura Gaur, a 75-year-old woman, passed away here recently.

As soon as people reached the crematorium with the body of the woman, it started raining there. The pyre would get wet during this rain, so people took tarpaulins with them to avoid this trouble. When it rained, the villagers stood with tarpaulins on the pyre so that the pyre would not be extinguished. Later, when the rain stopped, the body was burnt in great difficulty. Villagers say that a similar case took place last year.

It was rainy last year. At that time, the villagers had come to the same crematorium with the body of Virendra Pathak, a young man from Gaipara village, but as soon as the pyre was set on fire, it suddenly rained. At that time, people did not bring tarpaulins, which extinguished the pyre and left the body charred. Then, as soon as they were, they put raab, sugar in the pyre and dried it. People were sitting for hours during that time. In this case, District Panchayat CEO Roshan Singh says, "The matter is serious. I will take assets of it and arrange for a tin shed to be constructed there.''
