Patna: The dead body of drug dealer Mohit Ranjan, who was missing since Friday in Bihar's Purnia district, has been found in the Mufassil police station area on Sunday. The dead body has been found floating in the Saura River near Belauri Bridge. There are marks of assault on Mohit's face and body. Shiv Kumar Sah, the father of the deceased Mohit Ranjan, says that friends have beaten him to death and thrown the dead body in the river.

The killers have tried to make it look like a suicide. He said that at 8:00 p.m. on Friday night, Mohit had told his mother through her mobile phone that he was coming home after closing the shop. But after 10 minutes, his mobile got switched off. After a lot of searching, his bag and bike were found on the banks of the river at Belauri on Saturday morning. Yesterday, along with the dog squad and forensic team, a diver was searched, but nothing was recovered.

This morning, when he went out to search again, he came to know that his son's dead body was floating in the river near Belauri. When he went there, Mohit had many wounds on his face. Someone mercilessly beat him to death with rods and sticks and tried to make the murder look like a suicide. Awadhesh Sah, the cousin of the deceased, said that friends had kidnapped and brutally killed his cousin Mohit. Presently, the police are probing the matter.
