New Delhi: Today is the second death anniversary of Bharat Ratna and former Prime Minister of the country, Atal Bihari Vajpayee. In 2018, Atal Bihari Vajpayee breathed his last on the same day i.e. August 16. The news of his death shook the entire nation. He is one of the few leaders of Indian politics who has never been bound by the politics of party politics and has always found love and affection from all political parties. He has been the most popular leader even in Jammu and Kashmir.

It is not that the question related to marriage was asked less by Atal ji. But whenever asked, he was never upset, but in a very calm and restrained manner he used to answer these things. Many times he would say, 'This could not happen due to busyness'. Later he used to smile while saying this. People close to him also say that he had decided to remain unmarried for a lifetime for the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

Although Atal ji was born on 25 December 1924 in Gwalior, his ancestral village was in Bateshwar, UP. He got his education from Victoria College in Gwalior. His entire life was spent between politics, poetry and simplicity. However, the question comes in people's minds why they never got married, for which no one knows the exact answer and the concrete reason. However, in this regard, he himself has stated very clearly with regard to his unmarriedness in the midst of opposition attacks in the House, "I am unmarried, but not a virgin."
