According to media reports, he breathed his last on Sunday in the village of Dejgah in Iran. According to Iran News, Haji lived alone and had not bathed for 60 years for fear of falling ill. Haji lived in an open brick hut and was adamant about not bathing due to the effect on the mind due to the very bad times in his youth and did not bathe for 60 years for fear of falling ill, a report published in Tehran media also claimed that Haji used to eat dead animals on the roadside and They used to smoke from pipes filled with animal faeces.
