Hyderabad: Devdas Kankala, the well-known face of South India, especially the Telugu film industry, passed away. His stature can be gauged from the fact that he had trained a number of actors, including renowned south cinema superstars Rajinikanth, Chiranjeevi, and Rajiv Prasad. Devdas Kankala had been sick for several days. He was undergoing treatment at Kims Hospital where he died on the afternoon of August 2.

Devdas Kankala, who had his career as the lead drama director, later moved to film direction. Devdas Kankala was born on 30 July 1945. Devdas Kankala's father's name was Tatya Naidu and his mother's name was Mahalakshmi. Devdas Kankala has two children. Son's name Is Rajiv Kankala and daughter's name Srilakshmi Kankala. Rajiv Kankala himself is a well-known Telugu film actor-director. He is married to the well-being of TV anchor Suma.

Devdas Kankala also used to run an acting school in Hyderabad, which is still there. At the same Acting School, he trained South's legendary superstars in acting. In addition to Devdas, a Kannada Actress Shobha died in a car accident recently. She has appeared in the television show Magalu Janaki. At the time of the accident, Actress was going to the temple. According to reports, Shobha along with many was going to visit the Banashankari temple. The accident took place while visiting the Chitradurga temple in Bagalkot district.
