Mumbai – Mumbai Police have arrested a 20-year-old man from Noida, Uttar Pradesh, for allegedly issuing death threats to Bollywood star Salman Khan and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Zeeshan Siddique, an official said on Tuesday.

The arrest took place on Monday, following the man’s threatening messages sent to Siddique’s helpline, as well as a voice call where he issued direct threats to both Siddique and Khan. The incident occurred last Friday, according to an official from the Nirmal Nagar police station in Mumbai.

After registering a case on Monday, authorities tracked the suspect to Noida using technical evidence, where he was apprehended and is now being transported to Mumbai for further questioning.

The threat call was directed to Siddique’s public relations office in Bandra East. This incident follows the recent killing of Siddique’s father, Baba Siddique, a three-time MLA and former state minister, who was shot dead outside his son's office on October 12. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang later claimed responsibility for the killing, citing Baba Siddique's close connections with Salman Khan as a factor.

In next month’s assembly elections, the NCP, led by Ajit Pawar, has fielded Zeeshan Siddique as its candidate for the Bandra East constituency. Zeeshan recently shared in an interview that following his father’s death, Salman Khan has expressed serious concern over his safety.
