Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh BJP spokesperson and Supreme Court lawyer Prashant Patel Umrao has received death threats over the phone. He has lodged a complaint with the police in this regard. According to Prashant Patel, a fatwa of 'Sir Tan Se Judaa' has also been issued against him on Instagram. He has been provided police protection after the complaint. An FIR has been registered against the unidentified accused who made the threat and an investigation has been initiated. ┬а

Prashant Patel himself gave in this regard on June 2, 2022 (Thursday). According to the FIR, the BJP leader has been threatened in a TV debate over the fact that there is a Shivling in the disputed Gyanvapi complex. Prashant Patel has lodged a complaint with the Ecotech-3 police station in Noida. "On June 2, at 12.57 pm, i received a call from 9477298804 number on my mobile. The caller abused me and said that I speak wrong against his prophet in the TV debate. Gyanvapi has not a Shivlinga but a fountain. When I asked for his name, he threatened to take out my address, instead of telling me anything. With this, he said, 'You go out, I will slit your throat within a month.' We are ready to die and to kill, but you will no longer survive.''

The Supreme Court counsel further said in the complaint, "The threatener also abused me. I am in public life and I keep coming and going out. There have been murders with such threats in the past. The one who threatened me should be arrested and legal action should be taken. The police have confirmed that an FIR has been registered along with providing security to Prashant Patel and other necessary action has been taken.
