Hyderabad : The Telangana Zoo and Parks Authority (Zapat) meeting was held here on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Forest Minister A Indrakaran Reddy. The forest department has decided to improve zoos, increase entrance fees and conduct innovative programs to attract people.

Following the epidemic, football at the Nehru Zoological Park in Hyderabad, along with eight zoo parks and other forest parks in the state, was significantly reduced. As a result, the parks did not receive much revenue from visitors, which severely affected the zoo's activities, including animals and food.

The Minister suggested diverting the additional revenue coming from the major parks and also considered the provision for diversion of other funds in this regard. He advised the authorities to come up with innovative ideas to improve the revenue of zoo parks and other forest parks. He asked them to work with organizations such as the Wildlife and the Snake Society to submit the necessary proposals. He directed the authorities to study the entrance fee in other zoological gardens in the country and submitted a comprehensive report on the proposal to increase the entrance fee.

Special Principal Secretary, One A. Shanthi Kumari, Forest Principal Chief Conservator R. Shobha, Indira Zoological Garden Director Sidanand Kukreti and others were present.
