Recently, The  Popular film award Filmfare Awards 2019  has concluded and actress Alia Batt Bagged best actress award for Meghna Gulzar’s Raazi.  The movie also helped Alia Bhatt win the Best Actress for the movie. While Alia’s fans are happy for her achievment, Deepika Padukone’s fans were disappointed with the result. Deepika was nominated for Best Actress for her act in Padmaavat but she failed to take the black lady home.

While Deepika won an award for her performance at the Zee Cine Awards, she lost out the Best Actress award to Alia at Filmfare. Fans took to social media and expressed their dismay over the winner. Many called out the awards and as a result, Deepika took to a comments section of one of her fan pages to apologised to her fans.  Chennai Express actress wrote, “To all my fans, I am sorry I let you all down and promise to work harder than ever before...".

The actress posted the comment just as she dropped the first look of Chhapaak. The actress has been receiving great appreciations from her peers in the industry. Stars like Vicky Kaushal and Alia Bhatt applauded Deepika’s look in the movie.

Deepika will be seen in Chappak which she will be seen stepping into the shoes of Laxmi Agarwal, the most known acid attack survivor/activist. Helmed by Meghna Gulzar, Chhapaak is slated to release in 2020.  Chhapaak releases on January 10, 2020.
