Deepika Padukone to replace Kangana Ranaut in Anurag Basu’s Imali?

Kangana Ranaut and Anurag Basu have worked together in the hit films like  Gangster (2006) and Life In A... Metro (2007). There was news that they were set to work together for their upcoming film Imali. However, last month, Kangana revealed that she has had to quit the project due to scheduling conflicts and it broke everyone’s heart.

According to the report of Bollywood Hungama, makers of Imali have approached Bollywood diva Deepika Padukone to replace Kangana in the film. According to the source, there have been positive talks between Anurag Basu and Deepika Padukone and things might come to fruition once Deepika wraps up shoot for her debut production Chhapaak.

The source clims that Queen actress had walked out of filmmaker Anurag Basu’s forthcoming movie Imali citing difference in opinion. As the two of them couldn’t reunite after Gangster and Life In A Metro, the filmmaker has now approached Deepika Padukone to play the lead role in the film. However, an official announcement is not made yet regarding the same.

Director Anurga told IANS, “She didn't opt. We were supposed to start the film last November. But then Manikarnika's schedule got changed. Then I got busy with my current film, and then she got busy with Panga. It started a never-ending dynamo of confusion on dates. But we are destined to work together again. I'm sure it will happen sooner or later.”

On the workfront, Kangana is to seen in her upcoming film Panga soon.
