The Gita Mahotsav, celebrated every year, is on December 14 this year. This mahotsav is known as Gita Jayanti. It is celebrated every year on the Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha in the month of Margasirsha. Let me tell all of you that a world class fair is organized in Kurukshetra. This year, the fair will be held from 2nd December to 19th December. Under this, theatrical adaptation of Gita sermons, Gita Marathon, exhibition, cultural programmes are being organized. Let me tell you all that this time the International Gita Mahotsav-2021 will be made very memorable on the soil of Kurukshetra. In fact, Deepotsav will be the centre of attraction on December 14.

Under the information received, 75 pilgrimagesancts of 48 Kos Kurukshetra will also be celebrated with deepotsav. The main event is said to be held at Brahmasarovar, Contiguous Sarovar and Jyotisar. There are also reports that a target of burning five lakh diyas has been set this time. If you remember, last time 2.25 lakh diyas were installed in the festival, with the administration and Kurukshetra Development Board meetings on the main event of the International Gita Mahotsav which began on 9th December. On 9th December, Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya and Gujarat Governor Acharya Dr. Devvrat has already inaugurated the Arya Mahotsav and with this, a three-day International Gita Seminar has begun at Kurukshetra University. Let me tell you that DC Mukul Kumar has held a meeting on preparations for deepotsav.

He says, "The International Gita Mahotsav-2021 will have a special day for lakhs of people from across the country and abroad with the Festival of Deepotsav not only in Kurukshetra but also on December 14. A new history is set to be added to the Deepotsav. About 5 lakh diyas will be lit simultaneously on this day in collaboration with various institutions at a time. Chief Minister Manohar Lal will attend the function and also perform Deepadan as per tradition. In this programme, each institution will be given a certain place at the ghats of Brahmasarovar. '
