Lucknow: Netflix Entertainment Services India LLP Abhishek Nag and Nick Reed and Rewa Sharma have been booked for defamation over the ongoing documentary series Bad Boy Billionaires: India. All of them have been summoned for trial as accused. It is alleged that Subrata Roy's image is being tarnished through this documentary series. The next hearing in the case will be held on November 15.

Find out the whole matter:-

The complainant alleged that on October 5, 2020, even after opposition groups filed objections, they created a documentary series called Bad Boy Billionaires: India and uploaded it on YouTube. The documentary depicts Subrata Roy as parallel to Vijay Mallya, Nirav Modi and Raju. The documentary is deliberately designed using the Sahara logo to increase its commercial price. The complaint said that opposition fellows have tried to tarnish Subrata Roy's image with the act. Which comes under the category of defamation. Therefore, these Netflix officers should be summoned and punished.

Taking cognizance of the case filed in the same defamation criminal case, the Special Court has summoned Abhishek Nag and Nick Reed and Reva Sharma of Netflix Entertainment Services India LLP for trial as criminal complaints. Special CJM Sunil Kumar passed the order on a complaint filed by Sahara India Group of Companies and its Assistant Manager Dinesh Kumar Shukla.
