Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to address Naval Commanders' Meet today

New Delhi: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will speak today at the Naval Commanders' Conference, a forum for military-strategic discussions on important maritime issues.

According to the Ministry of Defence, Singh will address at the event on Thursday at 10 am. The Conference provides an institutionalised forum for Naval Commanders to discuss important maritime matters at the military-strategic level, as well as interact with senior Government functionaries.

The Chiefs of the Indian Army, General Manoj Mukund Naravane, and the Indian Air Force, Marshal Vivek Ram Chaudhari, will also meet with the Naval Commanders to discuss the convergence of the three Services in terms of a common operational environment, as well as avenues for augmenting Tri-Service synergy and readiness, according to an official statement from the government.

The Chief of Naval Staff, along with other Naval Commanders, will review major operational, materiel, logistics, human resource development, training, and administrative activities undertaken by the Indian Navy in the previous six months, and will further deliberate on future plans for important activities and initiatives.

The conference will also discuss the dynamics of the geostrategic situation in the context of the security scenarios in the region, as well as the challenges that have emerged as a result of the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict.
