There is hardly any defence deal or defence minister during whose tenure there are no allegations of financial disturbances in these deals. Due to this, defence deals in the country are quite long and complicated. Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has criticized it strongly. He invited the active participation of the private sector in the defence industry and assured that he would not back down from taking decisions for fear of corruption complaints.

At the India International Security Expo organized by the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Rajnath said that "the central government is committed to making full use of private defence entrepreneurship. The government is ready to negotiate with it and solve its problems as part of a plan to bring the Indian defence sector to $ 26 billion by 2025. Their doors are always open for this". The Defense Minister urged the private companies to go ahead and help wherever possible. The Defense Minister said that "India cannot depend on imported weapons for long as it does not match the country's plan to become a superpower".

He said that a minister who fears allegations of corruption should avoid taking decisions. Rajnath Singh does not care about all this. Rajnath Singh said that his ministry has taken several steps to promote micro, small and medium scale industries in the defence sector and liberalized industrial licensing.
