Washington, D.C.: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has completed his visit to the United States, highlighting the significant role of the Indian diaspora as a 'living bridge' between India and the US. His visit concluded with a series of events emphasizing India's growth and the strong bond shared with the Indian community abroad.

During his final engagement, Singh praised the Indian diaspora from cities like Memphis, Atlanta, and Nashville for their notable achievements and contributions to various fields including science, society, and the economy. He described them as a vital link fostering goodwill and strengthening relations between the two nations.

Singh also recognized the Indian community's efforts in celebrating Mahatma Gandhi's legacy, including the establishment of a Gandhi exhibit and the placement of 'Gandhi Way' street signs near the National Civil Rights Museum in 2019.

On August 25, Singh visited the National Civil Rights Museum, which is located at the site of Martin Luther King Jr.'s assassination. The museum includes a bust of Gandhi, acknowledging his influence on the non-violent struggle for civil rights.

Throughout his visit, which spanned from August 23 to 26, Singh met with US Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin. The two leaders expressed satisfaction with the conclusion of the Security of Supplies Arrangement (SOSA), which aims to enhance the collaboration between the defence industries of both countries and improve supply chain resilience.

Singh's visit included discussions at the Pentagon on various aspects of bilateral defence cooperation, industrial collaboration, regional security, and other international matters.
