New Delhi: The Ministry of Defence and the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) joined hands on Thursday, signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote healthy eating habits and ensure the availability of safe and nutritious food for the armed forces.
The objective of this collaboration is to raise awareness about the nutritional advantages of having a diverse diet and incorporating millet-based food products among the personnel. The MoU will facilitate the introduction of millet-based menus in messes, canteens, and other food outlets under the Ministry of Defence, adding more variety and health benefits to their meals.
During the MoU signing ceremony, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya unveiled a book titled 'Healthy Recipes for Defence,' developed by FSSAI.
