Defense Minister and High-Ranking Military Officials Honor Fallen Soldiers on 'Vijay Diwas'

New Delhi: Commemorative events marking Vijay Diwas were observed nationwide, with solemn tributes paid to commemorate the day. At the National War Memorial, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Chief of Defence Staff Gen Anil Chauhan, Army Chief Gen Manoj Pande, IAF Vice Chief Air Marshal Amar Preet Singh, and Navy Chief Admiral R Hari Kumar honored the sacrifices made by the fallen soldiers.

In a tribute at the National War Memorial, Minister of State for Defense Ajay Bhatt also honored the fallen soldiers, underscoring the importance of Vijay Diwas.

In Jammu, Major Gen Gaurav Gautam, GOC TIGER Division, paid homage to the fallen soldiers at the Balidan Stambh, expressing profound respect for those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. "I salute the sacrifice of our soldiers," said Gen Gautam.

Simultaneously, Lt Gen RP Kalita, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) of Eastern Command, laid a wreath at the Vijay Smarak at Eastern Command Army HQ, Kolkata, commemorating Vijay Diwas and paying homage to the fallen soldiers.

Vijay Diwas serves as an annual reminder of the significant moment when Pakistan surrendered in Dhaka, symbolizing India's historic victory in the 1971 war. This day stands as a testament to the courage and selflessness of those who secured India's honor, leaving behind an enduring legacy that continues to inspire future generations.
