New Delhi [India], Jan 26 (NT): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shah on Friday hoisted tricolor at party headquarter in Delhi on the occasion of 69th Republic Day.

Meanwhile, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley took to his Twitter handle and said, "I wish nation on the 69th anniversary of Republic Day."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also greeted the nation on his Twitter handle.

India is today celebrating the 69th Republic Day, the main function is being organized at Rajpath in the national capital where President Ram Nath Kovind will take the salute of the parade.

Under the custom to host a leader of a foreign nation as the chief guest at the parade, this year for the first time leaders of 10 ASEAN countries are the Chief Guests.

Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar also extended his wishes and greetings to the people of Goa.

In his greeting message, the Chief Minister has stated that "This day reminds us of our great constitution makers, who adopted great ideas of our independence movement through the constitution. I wish everyone a very happy Republic day,” CM said.(NT)
