New Delhi: A couple has been arrested for killing an elderly woman and throwing her body into a canal in the Najafgarh area of the national capital. The couple had taken a loan of Rs 1 lakh from 75-year-old woman Kavita Grover and could not return her. After which they killed the woman and cut the body into pieces with a sharp weapon and threw it into the drain. Senior police officer Santosh Meena said Anil Arya and his wife Tanu have confessed to the crime and told police that they had cut the body into several pieces before dumping it in Najafgarh drain, then the pieces were thrown in 3 bags.

The couple had gone home to Uttarakhand three or four days after the woman was killed. According to Dwarka DCP, elderly woman Kavita Grover had been missing from her house since July 7. After which his family members had lodged a missing complaint with the police. Investigating the case, the police came to know that the couple living in the woman's neighborhood was also missing. Police then registered a case of kidnapping and launched an investigation and traced the couple and detained them.
