New Delhi: The deteriorating air in the country's capital Delhi is not showing any sign of improvement. The burning stubble in nearby states and fireworks on the occasion of Diwali increased pollution (Delhi AQI Level) in the capital. Air quality was recorded more than 700 in many areas on Friday. However, on average this figure is 360.

According to the System Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR), 'Delhi's Overall Air Quality Index (AQI) has been recorded at 360.' This air quality falls under the 'very poor' category.  Earlier, the air quality has been 'very poor' in the past. Pollution has also affected visibility in Delhi-NCR for the past several days. Thick sheets of smog are visible in the air. Areas around Qutub Minar, Lotus Temple, Akshardham temple recorded smog and low visibility. At the same time, people are also facing difficulties in breathing due to 'bad quality air'.

While Delhi's average AQI has been recorded at 360, there are some areas where pollution has increased drastically. Two areas of Delhi - Wazirpur and Jahangirpuri - recorded more than 700 AQI on Friday. This shows that pollution in some parts of Delhi is much higher than in others. At the same time, all the stations providing AQI levels of data are also in the red category. The temple route recorded AQI levels 485 in the morning. A figure of 359 AQI was found in Pusa, 452 near the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi.
