Delhi's breath stuck due to air pollution, patients doubled in hospital

New Delhi: The people of the country's capital, Delhi, do not seem to be getting much relief from pollution for the next one week. In the absence of any major seasonal activity, the pollution level is expected to remain the same. Delhi recorded wind in three areas in the severe category on Monday. While Delhi's air as a whole remained in the worst category for the second consecutive day.

The people of Delhi have been facing severe pollution since Deepawali. In the meantime, the air quality index has been recorded above 400 points, in the severe category. However, pollution levels have declined for two days due to low wind speed and reduced impact of stubble smoke. But the air quality index remains in a very poor category. According to the Central Pollution Control Board, Delhi's average air quality index stood at 353 points on Monday. This level is placed in the extremely poor category of air. The index was at 330 points on Sunday. It has increased by 23 points in the last 24 hours. The index for three parts of Delhi was in the critical category, more than 400 points, on Monday.

According to the System Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR), 3,125 incidents of stubble burning have been reported in the fields of Punjab and Haryana. While the share of stubble smoke in Delhi's air on Monday remained at 10 percent. The stake was recorded at 12 percent a day earlier, Sunday. According to the survey, the rate of doctors or hospital-going families has increased from 22 percent to 44 percent in the last two weeks. In the second week of pollution, 86 percent of households are facing one or more disease due to the polluted climate in Delhi-NCR. One or more members of 56 percent of households are suffering from many problems such as sore throat, cough and eye irritation due to polluted air.
