New Delhi: The monsoon session of the Delhi Assembly is over. On the last day of the monsoon session, the Assembly passed a resolution to repeal agricultural laws. The motion was tabled by the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Jarnail Singh on the table of the House. AAP MLA Jarnail Singh said farmers have been protesting against agricultural laws for eight months.

Jarnail Singh attacked the Central government saying that more than 600 farmers have died during this period, but PM Modi has not yet expressed his condolences. Farmers have written suicide notes and committed suicide. The government plans to snatch their land from all farmers and queue them up at ration shops. He said everyone has seen how these bills were passed in the Rajya Sabha. Jarnail Singh said there is shame on this system, which does not think of its own people at all. This is the first time that women of the country have also set up Parliament at Jantar Mantar. This House (Delhi Assembly) recommends that the Central Government hold discussions with the farmers.

Talking to reporters in The House, Opposition BJP MLA and Leader of Opposition Ramveer Singh Bidhuri said that the three agricultural laws were passed, one of which was approved by the Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi government. This law will increase agricultural production, enrich farmers and increase production in mandi as well. Agricultural production has increased after Narendra Modi became PM. Income has doubled. I demand that no industry should be developed and traded on gram sabha land, he added.
