New Delhi: A case of murder of a blind man in Delhi's Sultanpuri has come to light. The incident took place on Wednesday (October 6th). The blind man's fault was that he raised his voice against the violence against a woman, after which he was killed. The accused are said to be absconding now. Delhi Police is trying to trace him after the testimony of the eyewitness.

Radheshyam, 40, hailed from Kushinagar in UP and was visually impaired. He had been selling pan beedi at Sultanpuri bus terminal for many years. He was there at night. Another blind woman like him also lived at the same terminal, which was near his dome on October 6. In the meantime, a man came and started misbehaving with the woman. Radheshyam opposed it and scolded the man and asked him not to say objectionable things. In the meantime, the young man picked up a stone and hit it so hard that Radheshyam fell there and fainted. Dilip Kumar, who runs another dome nearby, informed the police about the incident and the PCR van admitted Radheshyam to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital.

He succumbed to his injuries during treatment here. Police have conducted a postmortem of the body and registered a case of murder against the accused. CCTV cameras are being scanned so that the accused can be arrested. Investigations on CCTV has so far revealed that the accused fled after killing the blind man. His face is not clearly visible. So the police are preparing a sketch to catch him. Some reports also suggest that the woman who was abused was lying on the pavement and a man present accused her of stealing Rs 20. The woman refused and the dispute started. Radheshyam left the shop and explained to both of them. In the meantime, however, the accused stoned him and fled as soon as he fainted.
