Delhi cabinet approves proposal to deliver ration at doorstep

Delhi Government has approved a proposal to deliver ration at the doorstep of the beneficiaries. The ration will be delivered in a packet. The decision was taken in a cabinet meeting on Tuesday. Deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia informed the media about the decision.

“Delhi government has taken a decision that the beneficiaries who avail the Ration PDS scheme, will be given ration in sealed packets & the ration will be delivered to their houses,” said deputy CM Manish Sisodia to the media. He also informed that the delivery will be done by a private company.

The proposal needs to be approved by Lt. Governor Anil Baijal before it is implemented and hence been sent to Lt. Governor for approval. Following approval from Lt. Governor, a tender will be released to hire a private company for delivering the ration.

Manish Sisodia requested Lt. Governor to approve the proposal quickly so that the beneficiaries can soon yield benefits of the scheme.

Sisodia accused Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash and other senior officers of being involved with the ration mafia and were trying to block the implementation of the proposal as it would cease the racket of the ration mafia.
