The Delhi government, which was occupied by a majority, has given a big gift to the 10th and 12th students of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). In his statement, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia had said that he has directed the Education Department to work under a formula to minimize the burden of fees on students. Delhi Education Minister Manish Sisodia had said that he had asked the Directorate of Education (DoE) to prepare a proposal to minimize the fee burden on 10th and 12th students. In view of this, the Delhi government has decided to give the examination fee itself to all classes of students, giving relief to millions of parents.

For your information, the Central Board of Secondary Education (ICED) has increased the fees for board examinations for class X and Class XII in the past. The CBSE has raised the fee for five subjects from Rs 50 to Rs 1,200 for SC and ST students. It is said that the CBSE has increased the fees by 24 times. The CBSE used to charge Rs 350 from SC and ST students in Delhi. In which Rs.300 was paid by the Delhi Government and the remaining Rs 50 was paid by the students. The CBSE said in a notification that the matter is an internal matter of the Delhi government. On the other hand, the fee for all students across the country was Rs 750, which has been increased to Rs 1,500. In this case, the fee has been doubled.

The 24-fold fee hike is applicable only to Delhi's SC and ST students. Their fees have now been hiked by 24 times. Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has expressed displeasure over the fee. He has said that if things continue like this, the government will consider its board. The CBSE has already clarified the matter. The CBSE has said that the board has hiked the fees after five years. It has happened not just in Delhi, but has been done all over the country.
