New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Jarnail Singh passed away on Thursday morning from Rajouri Garden in Delhi. Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has expressed grief over his death. Aam Aadmi Party National President and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has tweeted his condolences on his demise.

In his official tweet, Arvind Kejriwal wrote, "Deeply saddened by the passing away of former AAP MLA Jarnail Singh ji. May God give peace to his soul. He will always be remembered for his contributions for the welfare of the society. It may be recalled that in August 2020, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) suspended Jarnail Singh from the primary membership of the party. A decision in this regard was taken by the party's Political Affairs Committee."

Jarnail Singh was elected MLA from Rajouri Garden in the 2014 assembly elections. AAP, who was contesting in Punjab, sent him there as his face and he resigned from the membership of the Legislative Assembly. He was elected vice president of punjabi academy in Delhi after losing the election. However, he was not given a ticket by the party in the 2020 elections.
