In New Delhi: Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi and the national convener of the Aam Aadmi Party, will be on a visit to North Gujarat on August 10, with the aim to expand its political influence in other states including Gujarat where  elections are expected to take place later this year. The CM will address a meeting at Townhall in Palanpur.

According to AAP Gujarat spokesperson Yogesh Jadwani, Kejriwal would reach North Gujarat on August 10 and hold a town hall event in Palanpur that will be attended by people from all walks of life.

He will be making his tenth trip to the state in the past four months, and his third in the last ten days. Kejriwal had earlier visited Surat and Veraval in Gir Somnath, followed by Jamnagar and Chhota Udepur.

The Delhi Chief Minister conducted a rally in Bodeli earlier on August 7 where he slammed the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party and made a number of pledges, including giving free energy and enhancing the state's healthcare system. Kejriwal had remarked during his speech at the meeting: "Gujarat's politics should be changed. The BJP and Congress' "I Love You" ILU-ILU politics will end. A vote for the Congress is a vote for the BJP. Leaders of the Congress will join the BJP either before or after elections. AAP and BJP are the only candidates in this election."
Notably, Kejriwal resigned as chief minister on February 14, 2014, for failing to introduce the Jan Lokpal Bill in the Delhi Assembly. He recommended the dissolution of the Assembly. After the 2015 Delhi Assembly elections, the Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party has won 67 of the 70 constituencies, leaving the BJP with three seats and the INC with none.

He won the New Delhi constituency again in those elections by 31,583 votes over Nupur Sharma. On February 14, 2015, at Ramlila Maidan, he took his second oath of office as Delhi's chief minister. His party has since passed the Jan Lokpal Bill, albeit with some modifications.
