New Delhi: The crime branch in the country's capital Delhi has suffered a major blow. Four accused with 350 kg of heroin have been arrested here. It is estimated to be worth around 2,500 crore rupees in the global market. This is the biggest ever seizure of heroin in the capital. The crime branch had received information that some people had come to Delhi with heroin.
Four persons were caught on a trap and a large quantity of drugs were recovered from them. Officials suspect that such a large quantity of heroin has been brought to India from Afghanistan. Efforts are also being made to find out to whom the heroin was to be supplied. The accused are being questioned. It is said to be a case of a large drug racket whose strings may also be linked to Haryana, Punjab and Madhya Pradesh.
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) had become serious about drugs after film actor Sushant Singh Rajput's suicide in Mumbai. Several celebrities related to Hindi cinema were questioned during the meeting. Riya Chakraborty had also faced questions from NCB in the Sushant Singh Rajput case. NCB had also caught several touts by hitting the red.
