After the unexpected victory of the Aam Aadmi Party, Chetan Bhagat has tweeted that the Aam Aadmi Party does not give 'Liberal Examination' every time. He says, "AAP learned to be liberal, but not so much to fall into the trap of giving constant liberal agniparikshas. Their leader read Hanuman Chalisa. Liberal purists would have said this is wrong. But he won. If he listened to liberal purists he never would." Now after this tweet of Chetan Bhagat, Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor has questioned his thinking. She targeted Chetan, referring to her husband Anand Ahuja. She tweets' "Chetan my husband reads Hanuman Chalisa daily. Your faith cannot decide which side your political leanings will be. I have neither understood this logic nor your tweet. I also believe in Hinduism and call myself Liberal".

After Sonam Kapoor's tweet, Chetan Bhagat again tweeted. He tried to convince Sonam of his stand. He wrote "This is a very good thing Sonam. You are absolutely Liberal. But still, there are some Liberals who feel that the inclination towards any religion is wrong in politics. The same people also oppose this thing". Now, this Twitter war between Chetan Bhagat and Sonam Kapoor does not surprise. Both Chetan and Sonam have their own ideology and it is not hidden from anyone. Sonam Kapoor has targeted the Modi government on many occasions, saying that this government divides people in the name of religion."
